As the flowers start to bloom and the days get longer (amen for that, right?!) It's the perfect time to give your fitness routine a “spring cleaning”. 1. Set Clear and Realistic Goals

Before you lace up your sneakers and hit the gym, take a moment to define your goals. Whether you're aiming to shed a few pounds, build muscle, or simply improve your overall health, setting specific and achievable objectives will give you a clear roadmap to do so! Remember to keep your goals realistic and measurable, so you can track your progress along the way. I am also a big believer in making your goals mean something, if they don’t have a deeper meaning (ex. I need to take care of my health so I can take care of Sam forever), then when your motivation is lacking and the newness wears off, you are far more likely to stop whatever good thing you had going because it doesn’t mean enough to you (yet!). So, download my free ultimate goal-setting workbook and make those goals mean something!

2. Evaluate and Adjust Your Routine

Take an honest look at your current routine and identify what's working and what's not. If you've been stuck in a rut, it's time to shake things up. Consider trying new exercises, classes, or activities to keep your workouts fresh and exciting. I love trying out new programs, especially ones that push me out of my comfort zone because they keep me engaged and challenged! I am on my second round of an 80 Day program and it's really challenging me, in a good way! By experimenting with different routines, you'll not only prevent boredom but also challenge your body in new ways, leading to better results overall! Which is a win-win in my book! - looking for some new workouts to try?

3. Prioritize Consistency Over Intensity

While it's tempting to jump into a rigorous workout regimen right away, it's essential to prioritize consistency over intensity. Instead of pushing yourself to the limit every day, focus on establishing a sustainable routine that you can stick to in the long run. Start with manageable workouts and gradually increase the intensity as your strength and endurance improve. I always tell the ladies in my group something is always better than nothing, so remember that! Slow and steady progress is better than burning out before you've even begun!

4. Incorporate Variety

Don't get stuck in a fitness rut by doing the same thing over and over again. If you have always just done cardio, switch it up! If you only like pilates, challenge yourself by doing a strength training program. Mix things up by incorporating a variety of exercises that target different muscle groups and aspects of fitness. From cardio and strength training to flexibility exercises and outdoor activities, there's no shortage of ways to keep your workouts exciting and challenging. By embracing variety, you'll not only prevent boredom but also ensure that your body continues to progress and adapt. If you are looking to switch it up I highly suggest try a workout from one of these below:

5. Listen to Your Body

Last but certainly not least, listen to your body. Pay attention to how you feel during and after your workouts, and don't ignore any signs of fatigue or discomfort. While it's essential to push yourself out of your comfort zone, it's equally important to give yourself adequate rest and recovery when needed. Overtraining can lead to injuries and setbacks, so be mindful of your limits and adjust your routine accordingly. Remember, fitness is a journey, not a sprint, so listen to your body and enjoy the ride.
