The Power of Community: Why Women Need a Support System More Than Ever

Sara England | Special Needs Mom | Advocate | Community

Motherhood is a beautiful journey, but for many of us, it can feel isolating, overwhelming, and at times, completely draining—especially when you're carrying extra weight on your shoulders, like managing a child with medical needs or additional caregiving roles. I get it. As a mom to a child with a disability, I’ve faced moments where I felt like I was running on fumes. I know how hard it can be to keep showing up for your family when you barely have time to catch your breath. But I’ve also discovered one thing: you don’t have to do it alone.

Here’s what I have learned...
Shared Experiences Build Resilience:

When I first started my wellness journey 7.5 years ago, I didn’t know how much I needed the community piece until I found it. It was and still is the biggest key factor for consistency in my life. Moms, just like me and you, who understood what it was like to give until there was nothing left. Our shared experiences became our strength. We build each other up when we were down. That’s what I want for you—a place where you’re understood and where the challenges you face are acknowledged but not feared.

Accountability: The Missing Piece to Achieving Your Goals:

How many times have you started a new routine, an exercise plan, or even a new mindset practice, only to give up because life got in the way? I’ve been there too. But, when I had others holding me accountable, I found I was more motivated to show up. With the right accountability system, you can build habits that stick, even when life feels chaotic. Accountability is there to guide you and uplift you, especially when you have a hard time motivating yourself! It makes all the difference!

Unwavering Support Makes All the Difference:

No judgment. Just support. That’s what our community will offer you—a safe space where you can come as you are, even on your hardest days. There’s no perfection here. Just moms helping other moms stay motivated, show up, and reach their goals. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful this support can be. You’re not just capable of thriving—you will.

Come join us!

Imagine having a group of women who truly understand what you’re going through. They see your strength, even on days when you don’t. This is what belonging offers—a place where your voice matters, your story is valued, and you’re never expected to carry your burdens alone. Research shows that when we feel connected to others, our mental health improves, our stress levels decrease, and we’re more hopeful about the future.

Tangible Tip: Finding Your Circle:
  • Journal Prompt: Take a moment to reflect on where in your life you’ve felt most supported. What did those connections look like? Write about how those relationships made you feel.

  • Action Step: This week, reach out to someone who makes you feel seen. Start a conversation about how you can support each other—because real change happens when we connect with others overall!

Download our “Belonging Journal Prompts” to help you reflect on what it means to truly belong, and how you can create more of that connection in your life. I want you to know that you’re worthy of support, and I’m creating a space for you to receive it!
