Every Ending Is A New Beginning

This week BODI (formerly Beachbody) announced it's transition from a network marketing company to an affiliate-only model which means that the team aspect, and basically everything I have built over the last 7.5 years is being taken away. It was heartbreaking to say the least. For lack of a better way to describe it, I was laid off. I am still in the process of getting clarity about what is next but here's what I do know and how I am working through it all!

Embrace the Pause

While I see a lot of people making rash decisions and getting frantic, I want to take time to reflect, rather than rushing to the next step. This pause is a moment to reset mentally and emotionally.  I am using mindfulness meditations and journaling to process my feelings, which allows me to gain insight into what I really want moving forward.

Expressing Gratitude and Teaching Resilience

This past week I have felt a wave of emotions but I have also felt immense GRATITUDE for what was. I have evolved into the person I am today because of everything I have learned about myself. So much personal and professional growth has happened over the last 7.5 years! I am a better person in every way than I was when I started. I also believe this is so good for my kids to see and learn from. Our kids need to see things go wrong, they need to see us picking up the pieces, it will help them navigate their own disappointments and challenges as they grow up. It gives them permission to fail and also to get back up again.

Listening to my intuition

I am relying on my intuition and rational thoughts to help me make my next choices. I am talking to my best friends, my parents, my husband and I am putting all the pieces together to move forward.  Just like I tell my kids I am listening to my gut and trusting that. It also helps me respond and not just react to things. So, I have been really going inward and asking myself what feels right in my heart!

Evaluating my options

I recommend taking time to explore all your options after setbacks like this and emphasize the value of taking time to make decisions and to figure out what is next. I have just been pausing and really reflecting on where to go next and it has been really exciting to get some clarity about the future!

Keeping my integrity

I want to make decisions out of integrity versus fear. I think its easy when you are vulnerable and just had everything stripped away- to jump to the next shiny thing- and maybe I am in the minority here but I think it's okay to sit with it, and to take your time to process about what you truly want and make sure whatever you are transitioning to you align with the values and mission you want to represent! Brene Brown says that integrity is choosing courage over comfort. It's choosing what is right over what is fun, fast or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them.

Here are some encouraging ways to gain clarity and see the possibilities in adversity:

Trust the Timing

Life’s detours often lead to unexpected blessings. Embrace the idea that things are happening for you, not to you. Trust that this moment of uncertainty is setting the stage for something greater. Remind yourself that clarity will come in time, and that your current challenge could be redirecting you toward something better.

Ask Yourself “What Can I Learn from This?”

Every challenge offers valuable lessons. Instead of focusing on what went wrong, ask yourself, “What is this experience teaching me?” Whether it’s resilience, patience, or a new skill, viewing obstacles as opportunities for learning helps shift your mindset and opens up new perspectives.

Focus on What You Can Control

In difficult situations, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by things outside your control. Ground yourself by focusing on the actions you can take. Whether it’s improving a skill, seeking advice, or finding new ways to adapt, shifting your focus helps reduce anxiety and creates opportunities for growth.

Reconnect with Your “Why”

Challenging times can make you question your path, but they also provide an opportunity to reconnect with your purpose. What truly matters to you? What lights you up? Reflecting on your deeper motivations can bring clarity and help you see new ways forward that align with your core values.

Look for Silver Linings

Even in the darkest times, there’s often a small glimmer of hope. Shift your mindset by asking, “What’s one good thing that has come out of this situation?” It could be a new connection, a realization about what’s important, or a chance to reinvent yourself. Focusing on these silver linings helps you see the potential for growth.

Surround Yourself with Positivity

Lean on your community, mentors, or loved ones who encourage and support you. A fresh perspective or positive energy from others can bring clarity and remind you that you’re not alone in navigating tough times. Their belief in you can help reignite your own confidence and optimism.

Take Small Steps Forward

Progress doesn’t have to be big or fast. Even small, intentional steps can lead to clarity over time. Don’t pressure yourself to figure everything out all at once. Trust that taking one step at a time—however small—will gradually reveal the opportunities ahead.

By reframing challenges as opportunities for growth, and practicing patience with yourself, you’ll find clarity even in uncertainty. If you are navigating a big change in your life, I am rooting for you!
